You can't know what attracts other people's attention, what a person finds beautiful, interesting, where they're looking. What we choose to frame today and what tomorrow depends on so many factors.
The works here always have two authors. We have used film swapping as a technique for the series. One person shot the film, rewound it and sent it to another person. Then the second person shot it too, not knowing what was overlaying.
This is a dialogue with many photographers and friends over years. Different places, different times.
J.M Almqvist is an artist living in Sweden. We met at EXP. 20 International Festival on Experimental Photography (Barcelona, Spain) in 2020 and started to do collaborations after that.
